Chromatography
Chromatography is a powerful analytical method used to separate and identify components in a mixture such as contaminants, wear metals, and additives in engine oil.
Soot
Shows whether the oil has been contaminated by small particles - for example, exhaust particles, grime, dust, abrasions or other substances.
Oil Condition
Indicates the condition of the oil itself. Compare the colour of the oil in the chart.
Water/Coolant
If this appears, it indicates the presence of water or coolant leaked into the oil.
Fuel In Oil
Hold the test paper facing towards the light. The larger the transparent ring around the outside, the more fuel there is in the oil.
